Tributes paid to founder of Nancy Doyle Clinic, now Bromsgrove Private Clinic who died

THE founder of the Nancy Doyle Clinic, now Bromsgrove Private Clinic, has died, after a lifetime of fundraising and campaigning for women's welfare.

Nancy Doyle, also known as Hannah Bridged Doyle, launched the New Road clinic in the 1990s, after helping to establish sexual health services at Redditch's Alexandra Hospital, while director of nursing.

The renowned clinic, which specialised in acupuncture, hypnotherapy and physiotherapy, was renamed Bromsgrove Private Clinic in May 2015, and continues to offer specialist therapies, alongside MRI scans and X-rays with state-of-the-art equipment.

Nancy was also a prominent member of Bromsgrove and Redditch Soroptimists, a global gender equality movement, and had formerly acted as the group's regional president.

Fellow members paid tribute to Nancy's active life in fundraising, which saw her climb Kilimanjaro, parachute jump and 'wing walk' on an aeroplane, raising thousands of pounds for breast cancer charities close to her heart.

Her interests included lobbying, politics and researching ways to improve the lives of women worldwide.

Nancy was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2015, and later moved back to Ireland, following the death of her husband Malcolm.

She passed away at home on November 1, leaving behind her son Adam and grandson Xavier. A funeral was held with family and close friends in Cork City on Monday (November 6).

Tributes left on a RIP.ie condolence book described her as 'hard working' and 'a true healer' who 'achieved so much in her medical and political career'.

Soroptimist Gail Teague said: "Nancy's sense of fun experience and knowledge will be sadly missed by all who knew her."
