Claremont is the setting for first-time novelist Bradley K. Rosen’s wonderfully offbeat new book, Bunkie Spills, which was released in June on Small Doggies Press. Claremont’s Kendra Bratzler and Sonia Bliss successful block a shot from South Hills’ Mariah Robles on Tuesday as the Pack hosted the Huskies in their Palomares League opener for 2017. Claremont won, 3-0, however they had to work hard for the victory as South Hills kept each set within a few points. With construction closing the main gym at CHS, the game was played at El Roble Intermediate School. COURIER photo/Steven Felschundneff
